Here at Gengras Ford, we are excited and expectant for the 2023 Ford F-150. Although we may not know all the details of the new F-150, we have a good idea of some of the features we can expect. We may anticipate new technology, a large range of alternatives, and possibly some new possibilities for Ford truck drivers. Here’s what to expect from the 2023 Ford F-150:

Several Options Engine

The Ford F-150 has a variety of available engines, which is nothing new, but Ford has never offered an F-150 with a hybrid drivetrain. A ten-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive are included with each engine option. Other engine choices include a 3.3L V6, a 5.0L V8, a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6, and a 3.0L diesel. The new hybrid powertrain comprises a 35 kW electric motor and a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine. Ford claims that with this setup, the truck should be able to run an onboard generator as well as go up to 700 miles on a single tank of fuel.

This new hybrid option has the potential to be a strong selling point, particularly for drivers who prefer eco-friendly features and more power. The fact that the shift lever can be folded down to create a flat workspace and that the front seats can be lowered flat to provide a sleeping area complements the other features in the truck quite well. The usual Wi-Fi hotspot is also available for calls, meetings, etc.

The New Trim Level

In the past, the Ford F-150 could only be equipped to travel off-road in higher-level trims, but for the 2023 model, the new “Rattler” trim is only one above the base level, making off-roading more accessible to a larger range of customers.

This model has 8-inch wheels, hill-descent control, an off-road suspension system, and dual exhaust systems. The 18″ wheels are an improvement over the standard 17″ wheels. What makes having that extra inch so crucial?

Depending on the terrain you’re driving on while off-roading, you’ll need more clearance to pass over rocks, across the water, and through various plants. The twin exhaust system is advantageous for off-roading since it can push more exhaust out, acting as an air pump and giving the driver more horsepower. You’ll need that extra power boost, whether navigating hills, sand, mud, or marshy terrain.

Updated SYNC 4 Software

Ford’s SYNC 4 and 4A software has only been available for a few Ford models but recently received an upgrade and is available on the 2023 Ford F-150. What does it include? How easy is it to use? Does it work with your phone, apps, etc.? With the newest Ford F-150, you’ve got options for the following:

  • Bigger infotainment screens from 8″ to 15.5.”
  • Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a SYNC AppLink
  • Navigation System
  • Cloud-Based User Manual
  • SiriusXM 360L
  • Available Enhanced Voice Recognition
  • Ford Power-Up Program

When Will the 2023 Ford F-150 Debut?

Ford has not released an exact date for the new Ford F-150 to start making appearances, but we expect to see it appear on our lot starting in summer or early fall this year. While waiting for the newest exciting thing to come out is never fun, we know the latest F-150 is worth the wait.
