For those of us who love going off-road, there’s nothing else quite like the freedom and joy that comes from leaving civilization behind and getting away from it all for a while. The key to that, of course, is having a great vehicle that’s up to the challenges you set for it—few models out there are so perfectly designed for this as the Ford Bronco Sport. Once you start looking for a Ford Bronco Sport for sale, however, you’ll quickly discover that you have quite a few different options to choose from. Planning is essential before you hit the trail, and it’s equally essential for getting the right vehicle. Let’s take a look at the different Bronco Sport trims available here at Newton Ford South and figure out which one is right for you.
2023 Ford Bronco Sport Base
As the name might suggest, the Base is the baseline trim for the 2023 Bronco Sport, but it still gives you plenty of standard features for this fantastic off-road SUV. It comes with a 1.5L EcoBoost I-3 engine that delivers 181 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. This power plant is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and has excellent performance for a small crossover like this. You get four-wheel drive (4×4) with every Bronco Sport trim, including the Base, with four-wheel disc brakes and electronic traction control. Every Bronco Sport also comes with Ford’s High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS) system for fantastic articulation and maneuverability out on the trail.
This Base model has a body-color roof, along with black door handles, side mirrors, and roof rack side rails. You get 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires on this trim. Standard LED Auto High-Beam Headlamps provide great visibility in dark conditions. Single-zone climate control is standard on the Base trim, along with a 4.2-inch instrument cluster display, an eight-inch infotainment screen, and a six-speaker sound system. You get an impressive Terrain Management System with five Goes Over Any Type of Terrain (GOAT) Modes on the Base trim––Sand, Slippery, Sport, Eco, and Normal––which helps you go anywhere you can imagine.
2023 Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend
Moving up from the Base to the next trim, the Big Bend, provides you with a number of upgrades and numerous options that aren’t available on the starting trim. For example, while 17-inch wheels and all-season tires are still standard, with the Big Bend, you can choose 18-inch wheels or upgrade to Continental All-Terrain tires for improved off-road traction. Inside, the Big Bend has electronic automatic temperature control and an Intelligent Access system with Push-Button Start. Advanced driver-assist features include Post-Collision Braking just in case the unexpected happens. While the Big Bend has cloth seating like the Base, you can add heated front seats and an eight-way power driver’s seat––two features that aren’t available for the Base.
2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage
With the Heritage trim, you get impressive off-road performance, great features, and a gorgeous design. This version of the 2023 Bronco Sport features a gorgeous Oxford White roof with Oxford White side decals and a matching grille with red “BRONCO” lettering to make an immediate impression. Similarly, 17-inch Oxford White wheels are standard with Continental All-Terrain tires designed to let you go anywhere you want. Inside, the Heritage shares most of its features with the Big Bend but has some unique touches like Oxford White door rings and Plaid cloth seating for an added touch of sophistication.
2023 Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks
If you like the standard performance of the 2023 Bronco Sport but want the ultimate luxury experience while you’re out on the trail, then the Outer Banks is a great choice. The Outer Banks makes an immediate impression thanks to its Shadow Black roof, body-color door handles, unique roof rack side rails, and Black grille with White lettering. Inside, the Outer Banks truly sets itself apart with fantastic features like dual-zone automatic temperature control, Remote Start functionality using the FordPass App on your smartphone or similar device, and a 6.5-inch LCD instrument panel. You get a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel in the Outer Banks, leather-trimmed seating with heated front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and a six-way power front-passenger seat.
2023 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands
Up to this point, the upgrades we’ve seen have generally been aesthetic details and luxury touches—the Badlands breaks that mold with boosted performance and capability. You’ll find a 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 engine in the Badlands trim that delivers 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque for incredible power, along with an Advanced 4×4 system with a Twin-Clutch Rear Drive Unit designed to provide you with incredible traction and grip no matter how tricky the trail gets. The Badlands also comes with advanced off-road suspension and Ford Trail Control, which acts like cruise control when you’re off-road.
Ford has given the 2023 Bronco Sport Badlands 17-inch wheels with Pirelli All-Terrain tires standard and made larger Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain Off-Road tires available. One of the most impressive details of the Badlands trim is that it improves the Terrain Management System with two additional GOAT Modes designed for difficult trails: Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl. Inside the Badlands, you’ll find a fantastic array of standard and available features, including heated front seats, a 6.5-inch instrument panel display, and more.
2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage Limited
Finally, if you like the unique style of the Heritage trim, but want the improved performance and capability of the Badlands, then the Heritage Limited is the way to go. You can get the same 2.0L EcoBoost engine in the Heritage Limited, along with Ford Trail Control, advanced 4×4, and off-road suspension designed to tackle anything you throw at it. Like the other Heritage trim, the Heritage Limited also has a painted Oxford White roof, an Oxford White grille with Red “BRONCO” lettering, and unique heritage badging.
This trim comes with Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain Off-Road tires and has the advanced Terrain Management System with seven GOAT Modes like the Badlands. You get a power moonroof on the Heritage Limited—it’s typically an available option on the other trims—along with a wireless charging pad, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and unique Oxford White details inside, along with perforated Plaid inserts for the leather-trimmed seating. While a 10-speaker B&O sound system is available on some other trims, this incredible audio experience is standard in the Heritage Limited.
For When the Journey Matters More Than the Destination
There are a lot of fantastic features and options available across the six different trims of the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport. This is why it’s so important that you consider the options available to you and how they differ before choosing the one that will perfectly meet your needs. To keep things simple: if you like the standard 1.5L engine, then you can choose from the first four trims, with the Heritage giving you some unique aesthetic touches. For improved power and performance, the Badlands and Heritage Limited are the way to go with their 2.0L engine and advanced Terrain Management System. You really can’t go wrong with any 2023 Bronco Sport trim since they’re all amazing, but it’s still worth it to choose the one that has everything you’ve been looking for.
