Because of the rough terrain, off-road riders often swap out factory parts and equipment for highly specialized, fine-tuned accessories specifically made for unpredictable driving conditions. For those just venturing into the hobby, these esoteric parts, materials, and accessories can be intimidating enough to put your off-road riding plans on hold. That’s why Ford has announced the unveiling of the all-new, off-road-ready F-150 Rattler. Great for beginner off-road riders, the Rattler trim comes ready to ride right out of the factory. Equipped with durable parts and uniquely designed features, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about the new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler.
Pricing
While many off-road packages can often come with a hefty price tag, Ford makes it clear that the 2023 Rattler will be affordable for the average off-road thrill seeker. Additionally, the Rattler trim level sits nicely between other off-road trims offered by Ford such as the FX4 Off-Road Package, and higher trim levels like the Tremor and Raptor. Coming in at just over $400 higher than the FX4 trim, the more versatile Rattler is priced at a retail value of $1,450.
Features
When lined up against lower-level trims, the F-150 Rattler instantly stands out. For example, the 2023 Rattler trim comes standard with dual exhaust with black exhaust tips, as well as 18-inch, dark-painted wheels with heavy-duty all-terrain tires. Other upgrades can be seen throughout the vehicle including fog lamps, privacy glass, an electronic rear window defroster, and a Rattler box-side decal.
Performance
Under the frame, the Rattler trim offers upgraded shock absorbers, rear shocks, front differential, skid plate, and transfer case. Ford also offers 3 different engine options for the Rattler trim such as the 5.0 V8 Coyote, 3.5L V6 EcoBoost, or 3.5L V6 PowerBoost. The Ford F-150 Rattler also comes standard with off-road specific driving modes like Rock Crawl and Hill Descent.
